The formal event, titled ‘NAIDOC Black Carpet Celebrating 50 Years of Deadly’, will be held at the Pullman International Hotel from 6pm to 10pm.

Organisers say the evening will bring together community members, leaders and organisations to honour the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people while celebrating culture, connection and unity.

The program will include a red carpet arrival experience, welcome to Country, cultural performances, live entertainment, guest speakers and a sit-down dinner.

Presentations and storytelling will also feature throughout the evening, highlighting the strength, resilience and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The event is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the wider community, but is restricted to people aged 18 and over.

Limitless Bama Indigenous Corporation said the event was created to provide a space that celebrated and elevated the voices, achievements and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The organisation said the initiative was developed to focus on strength, success and unity while creating an event the community could look forward to each year.
