Art tells stories of truth
THE Crystalbrook Bailey hotel has opened its doors to ‘Truth in Print’, a striking new exhibition showcasing collaborative screen-printed works by the talented artists of the Yarrabah Arts and Cultural Precinct.

The exhibition features Philomena Yeatman, Michelle Yeatman, Edna Ambrym, Valmai Pollard and Simone Arnol.
The opening night on Friday 3 October, included live music, traditional dancing and drinks available from CC’s Bar & Grill.
Attendance was free, allowing the Cairns community to come together to celebrate the artists and their work.
Truth in Print transforms humble studio drop sheets into six vibrant screen-printed canvases, centred around words deeply significant to the Yarrabah community: ‘Always. Respect. Truth’.
Screen printing has historically been a medium of resistance and collective voice, and in this series, the artists reclaim the process, embedding it with First Nations values, stories and legacies.
The exhibition speaks both to history and contemporary identity, highlighting resilience, unity and the enduring truths of Country. It invites viewers to reflect on the power of language and the importance of respect, offering a meaningful connection to the stories and culture of Yarrabah.
