The reserves dominated, defeating the Lions 104-16, continuing their great start to the season.

The seniors backed up from their round one performance, trouncing the Lions 145-49. This weekend sees the beginning of the junior crocs season, with all teams hosting Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs.

Rugby union

The Raiders, after a much-anticipated off-season, started their season with their reserves squad – the Tablelands Reds – defeating Cairns Penrhyn Sharks 24-5.

The A-grade squad still have one more week to wait for their season to start at home against the Northern Beaches Mud crabs on ANZAC Day.

Soccer

The Douglas Dragons premiership defence is still on track after a shootout with the Southside Comets.

The game went back and forth the entire night with the result seeing a 5-5 draw.

The Dragons now heavily prepare for their next game against the top of the table Edge Hill Tigers.

Basketball

The Douglas Heat Basketball club hosted their first invitational tournament of the year.

The club saw teams from Atherton, Cooktown, Mission Beach and Innisfail as the region competed in their first tournament of the year.

The club now has about a three-week cooldown before they play in their next set of games.
