A salute to Rod Stewart
A ROD Stewart tribute show featuring UK vocalist Shaun J. Marshall will perform at Cairns Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 21 March.
‘Direct from the U.K’, The Rod Stewart Show – The Maggie May Tour will celebrate the music of Sir Rod Stewart with a performance covering more than four decades of the artist’s career.
The production features internationally acclaimed vocalist Shaun J. Marshall, a singer from Plymouth, Devon, UK, who has performed on stages around the world for several years.
The show recreates the distinctive sound of the British music legend, with Marshall performing some of Stewart’s best-known songs, including ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’, ‘Hot Legs’, ‘The First Cut is the Deepest’, ‘Some Guys Have All the Luck’ and ‘Sailing’.
Rod Stewart is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, with 10 number-one albums and 31 top-ten singles in the UK, six of which reached number one. He has sold more than 250 million records worldwide.
Marshall has previously performed tribute shows dedicated to artists including Paul Rodgers and Sting, before turning his focus to the music of Rod Stewart.
The show is backed by a full live band comprising Australian session musicians selected by Marshall.
According to the tour announcement, The Rod Stewart Show aims to capture the raspy vocal style and stage presence associated with Stewart’s performances, delivering a concert experience centred on his most recognised hits.
The tour will stop in Cairns for one night only at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre.
