The Westcourt store opened its doors on Wednesday (3 December) at 250 Mulgrave Rd, with a third in Smithfield on Wednesday, 17 December, on the corner of McGregor Rd and the Smithfield bypass.

These new stores join 7-Eleven’s existing North Cairns store at 334–336 Sheridan St, which opened in June 2023.

A company spokeswoman said the stores included store leaders and 12 staff, creating new employment opportunities for the region.

“Alongside Mobil quality fuel and iconic coffee, 7-Eleven Australia is the home of sweet treats, offering favourites, including Krispy Kreme’s, alongside its fresh food and snack range,” she said.

Chief operations officer Marc Costabile said “we’re here to help Australians live a good life, and that means being where our customers are, in the neighbourhoods they live, work, visit and play”.

“Expanding in Cairns means we can continue to be part of this growing community, serving locals with our range of hot and chilled food, coffee, drinks, everyday essentials and the treats they love,” he said.

Mr Costabile said the new stores reflected 7-Eleven Australia’s ambition to be the convenient neighbourhood store for all Australians, delivering what customers want, where and when they want it, no matter their mission – “because anytime is 7-Eleven time”.

“7-Eleven Australia is proud to be growing alongside its communities – and is just getting started in Far North Queensland,” he said.
