Kenfrost Homes MARLIN COAST SELECTS NEW SQUAD
THE Marlin Coast netball region has named a squad of 17 as the start of the selection of the Kenfrost Homes Marlin Coast Team to travel to Sunshine Coast in October for a weekend of netball.
The selectors have had plenty of opportunities to observe the athletes prior to the final selection of the squad.
Athletes had many occasions to impress the selectors; they attended their local academy clinics, which were presented by netball legend Vicki Wilson and attended two rounds of Marlin Coast Premier League.
The squad will undergo the home program and several training sessions with academy coaches. The final team will be selected in August (date to be finalised).
The team has been invited to Sunshine Coast on October 23-24, where they will join with their academy athletes to take part in a weekend of netball.
Before the team heads off, they will have the opportunity to attend the Kenfrost Homes Festival of netball in Port Douglas with high-profile presenters.
The Marlin Coast committee have decided to run the event, which was very successful in 2020.
This event attracted 70 nominations, and the organisers expect similar numbers in 2022.
The Douglas Netball Association will host the festival on October 8 and 9, catering to players, coaches and umpires.
