The Aussies took some impressive wins at Crankworx Innsbruck, landing on the podium a total of six times in the Pro categories, twice in the U19 category, and twice in the U17 category across the four-day festival.

The wins included an impressive performance by Cairns sibling duo – Tracey Hannah and Mick Hannah – who brought serious speed and skill to the downhill event, with Tracey taking silver in the Women’s Pro and Mick taking bronze in the Men’s Pro in the deuter Downhill presented by Raiffeisen Club.

WOMEN’S PRO:

• Cairns rider Mick Hannah took bronze in deuter Downhill presented by Raiffeisen Club.

U17 AND U19 MALE CATEGORIES:

The young Aussie riders also sent it for Australia, proving the next generation is looking to follow in the footsteps of the Pro Aussie athletes – who are no stranger to the podium.

The success of Australian riders at the first stop on this year’s Crankworx World Tour comes ahead of the first Crankworx “Paradise Edition”, set to be held in Cairns from October 5 to 9, 2022.

Cairns was recently announced as Crankworx World Tour’s new fourth location.

The world’s best athletes will ride through Smithfield MTB Park – the only place in the world where you can ride alongside two World Heritage areas: the Wet Tropics of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef.

Crankworx Cairns will offer a chance for MTB fans and festival enthusiasts to participate in the action with spectator opportunities, CWNext (Amateur competitions), Kidsworx, and an on-site expo.
