Crocs epic victory
CROCS have completed a memorable premiership double, claiming championship victories in both the reserves and seniors competitions after two dramatic grand final performances.

The reserves produced a remarkable comeback against Centrals, eventually running out 49–34 winners in a tightly- contested affair.
Centrals held the advantage heading into the final quarter, with the Crocs trailing at three-quarter time and needing something special to turn the contest around.
What followed was a stunning final-quarter performance from the Crocs.
They lifted their intensity at both ends of the ground, completely shutting down Centrals and keeping them scoreless throughout the final period.
The defensive effort proved decisive, while the Crocs found the scoreboard when it mattered most to turn the deficit into a 15-point victory and secure the reserves premiership.
The seniors then delivered an even more dramatic contest, facing rivals South Cairns Cutters in a game that remained in the balance right until the dying minutes.
With the Crocs trailing late, the pressure was at its peak.
However, Shay Linke produced the crucial moment, finding the goal to hand the Crocs a five-point lead.
From there, the Crocs held their nerve to close out a thrilling 80-75 victory and claim the seniors premiership.
Jared Petrenko was recognised for his outstanding performance, earning best-on-ground honours after playing a key role in the Crocs’ successful grand final campaign.
The two premierships mark a significant achievement for the club, with the performances across both grades highlighting the depth and determination within the Crocs program.
Club president Matt Laskey said the success meant more than just premiership silverware for the club.
“It’s amazing, not only for the club, but for the region,” Laskey said. “This will give the club plenty of spark and enthusiasm all off season.”
For the Crocs, the celebrations can now begin after a season that has delivered the ultimate reward in both grades.
With the reserves producing a stunning final-quarter comeback and the seniors surviving a nail-biting finish against their biggest rivals, the Crocs have plenty to celebrate heading into the off-season.
