Held at a special location – Rainforestation Nature Park in Kuranda – in its 16th year, the evening saw over 110 attendees from across Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome, Rainforestation, Wildlife Habitat, Tropic Wings and CaPTA Head Office.

CaPTA Group Managing Director Peter Woodward said the overall winner, Suzy Buttar, was chosen from six worthy finalists.

“Suzy joined us at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in 2009 and has been very adaptable and flexible in working across multiple sites from the onset of the COVID pandemic – she’s a very well-deserved winner,” Mr Woodward said.

Rainforestation showcased its iconic experiences, with canapes served in its Wildlife Park whilst their three new Tasmanian Devils put on a feeding show.

Following a special performance by the Pamagirri Dancers, guests were seated in the restaurant for a buffet meal.

Other winners included the Training Award for David Dunworth at Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome, the Social Media Content Champion for AnnaRita Evans at Tropic Wings, the Social Media Viral Video Award for Jen Moloney at Rainforestation Nature Park, and the Bright Idea Award for Rob Jung at Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome.

CaPTA Group Director of Sales and Marketing Ben Woodward said the evening was an opportunity for the whole team to get together and have fun after another challenging year for the tourism industry that has only just started to recover.

“One of the more lighthearted, favourite traditions of the evening is a competition where each company puts forward a fun video they’ve made celebrating their finalist, won this year by CaPTA for their “Suzy Wants To Be With You Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac,” he said.

“Every year, it becomes quite a production and always puts a smile on everyone’s face!” he said.
