Back to 80s at Reef Casino
CAIRNS is set to rewind to the 1980s for two nights of live music and retro fun at The Reef Hotel Casino.

Local band Big Noise, supported by DJBEasy, will perform on Friday 28 November and Saturday 29 November from 8.30pm at BAR36, bringing an 80s sound and visual experience to the city.
Frontman Adrian Cartwright will be joined by Jock Williamson, Dale Monaghan and Brad Townsend, performing hits ranging from British new wave to American anthems, New Zealand pop and Australian rock.
Entertainment manager Bruce Stewart said the events were a response to strong community enthusiasm.
“There has been so much positive feedback and response to these fun nights that we must keep rolling them out. We just have to,” he said.
Attendees can expect a night full of 80s nostalgia, from teased hair and iconic fashion to references to the era’s pop culture, including the Rubik’s Cube, the Nintendo and Halley’s Comet.
Band member Jock Williamson said: “We were blown away by how many people dressed up in 80s gear. A great surprise.”
The two-night event follows previous successful 80s parties at the casino and promises a lively, free experience for both first-timers and returning fans.
Live and free, the party runs late into the night at BAR36, offering punters an opportunity to hit pause on 2025 and enjoy a musical trip back to the 1980s.
